Research knowledge as well as the praxis points the importance of participating of the closest relation persons in the treatment of their addicted relatives. The article is in its theoretical part aimed at the field of the family therapy in the addiction treatment and the work with the family. In its practical part the article is aimed at the presentation of our experience in the work with the family relatives of the patients in the residential treatment. Due to the content analysis of the family relatives’ answers we present their evaluation and contribution of the family therapy.
