Experiences of university students with drugs. Part II. Students of the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava

The paper presents the results obtained in the group of 230 students of the Medical faculty in Bratislava. The most commonly used drugs are black coffee, alcohol, and tobacco. The most commonly used illicit drug is THC. Repeated or regular use of THC was reported by 13.5 % of students. The second - most commonly used illicit drugs are hallucinogens (LSD). Eight students (3.5 % of the group) used LSD once or repeatedly. Four students (1.7 %) reported at Least one experience with MDMA (Ecstasy). In comparison with the results obtained in the year 1997 the tobacco and THC use has increased. The paper presents differences in the use of drugs between men and women. It also presents differences in the use of drugs among THC users and the group of students who do not use THC.
