Negative influence of smoking during the pregnancy

Smoking during the pregnancy has negative influence for the pregnant woman, fetus and newborn. Complications are caused by toxic parts from tobacco smoke and they are present during the each trimester of pregnancy. During the first trimester there is increased risk of spontaneous abortion, congenital anomalies, and later dangerous for pre term delivery and intrauterine growth retardation. Nicotine together with carbon monoxyd are responsible of several complications of cardiovascular, respiratory and other systems of mother and fetus.
