There are relatively specific risk and protection factors associated with the medical profession in regard to excessive exposure to stress and the emergence of addictive disorders. In the article the methods for managing stress and preventing addictive disorders are divided into five areas according to their prevailing mechanisms. In the conclusion brief mention is made of treatment of medical doctors themselves.
