Craving: combined defence is the most effective

Strategies how to cope with craving can be divided into the following categories: 1. Stimulus control and avoiding or dealing with the external triggers of craving. 2. Avoiding or dealing with the internal triggers of craving. 3. Motivation based strategies including anticraving medications. 4. Coping with stress. 5. Cognitive techniques. 6. Uncategorized and individually effective techniques. Most of these approaches can be mutually combined to increase their efficiency. The examples of typical combinations are presented.
