Motivating patients in court-ordered drug treatment by CBT

Implementation of court-ordered drug treatment in conditions of imprisonment is characterized by a high degree of involuntariness and patient’s low motivation towards its realization.The work with patient’s motivation therefore becomes a crucial point of the therapeutic action and intervention in the treatment process. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is one of the most effective approaches in the treatment of drug addiction.It offers several options of how to work and what to take into account in the patient’s motivation process within the court-ordered treatment.
