Pathogenesis, prevalence together with incidence of this disease in conditions of Slovakia are far from being completely known. Ranging from genetic level to pathogenetic understanding of toxic effects of alcohol on the heart we move from diagnosis process to treatment of disease, which in the context of comorbidities and complications (hypertension, diabetes, arrhythmia, heart failure, mental illnesses) represents also currently a significant common entity with the impact on the prognosis of patients - consumers.
