Despite that neurobiology of nicotine addiction is relatively well described the present pharmacotherapeutical approaches often fail. Antidepressant bupropion belongs to the group of drugs used to help smoking secession. The view on bupropion pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and matching with action of other pharmacotheraputical agents currently used is provided in this paper.
