Case of extremely polymorphous narcomania

The paper presents a survey of polymorphous drug addict, who has been observed in psychiatric hospital Velké Zálužie during 19 hospitalizations. Apart from alcohol he had been using also barbiturates which he received from general practitioners in spire of warnings by the psychiatric hospital staff. He was also taking Yastyl, analgetics and he found out that Chlorpromazin was able to produce an euphoria in him. In the course of one hospitalization it was found, that only Reserpin did not have euphorizing effects. Finally the patient took his life. According to the author, alcoholics should not receive barbiturates and also when prescribing ataractic drugs one should be very cautious.
