Epileptic seizures and dependence

Epilepsy is not infrequent neurological affection. Its prevalence is assumed about 1 % in the population. Its manifestation exhibits seizure like states with typical neurological and psychic symptoms, which are induced via pathological electric discharges in brain. The population of dependants is known to have higher prevalence rates of seizures. It is found not only at the alcoholics but after newer findings at the illicit drug users as well. This paper is trying to give an overview about the prevalence rates of this serious health condition at patients with substance dependence treated at the OLÚP Predná Hora. In this paper the authors are comparing set of patient with and without the epileptic seizures.
