Some traditional natural hallucinogenic drugs – history, use and forensic view

In our article we focused on several hallucinogenic drugs of natural origin mostly obtained from plants and mushrooms. Their chemical structure is based on tryptamine or if you like on indole core and these drugs take effect on central serotoninergic system. Consequently they have stimulating and hallucinogenic potential. Bufotenine, ibogaine and other tryptamines are used mainly by the native African and South American nations; there in our country just psylocibine is still very important and beloved by the drug experimenters. This text discusses the traditional drug preparation, its history and clinical aspects. Forensic commentary supplements the general view on hallucinogenic substances in authorized medical experts’ praxis.
